JOB OVERVIEW

The National Guard Bureau’s (NGB’s) Air National Guard staff is responsible for the budgetary planning, system architecture, and functional management at the NGB for ANG ISR, RPA/Strike, Cyber/IT and C2 asset integration into the active-duty U.S. Air Force (USAF) architecture.

We are looking for a highly motivated Subject Matter Expert in Distributed Common Ground Systems (DCGS) intelligence systems to provide onsite support to the Air National Guard (ANG) Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) staff. This position requires a unique blend of ISR expertise, communication, and management skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES

  • Serve as the point of contact for issues involving acquisition and integration matters at ANG DCGS units
  • Coordinate with Headquarters Air Force (HAF), Major Commands, National Guard Bureau (NGB) and ANG staffs and ANG operational field units to synchronize and coordinate current and future ANG DCGS installations and capabilities upgrades and provide “cradle-to-grave” systems support
  • Analyze DCGS systems issues and recommend solutions to the ANG ISR staff, upon their selection of a solution work with ANG DCGS field units, the DCGS System Program Office (SPO)
  • Assist the ANG ISR staff by communicating NGB guidance and providing oversight of DCGS weapon system installation at ANG field units
  • Inform ANG ISR staff of personnel training requirements for DCGS weapon system upgrades
  • Provide DCGS systems requirements input in support of the Program Objective Memorandum (POM) build process for ANG DCGS
  • Coordinate with HAF and gaining Major Commands on all ANG requirements and funding issues affecting ANG DCGS sites
  • Assist ANG ISR staff with the coordination of National Guard and Reserve Equipment Appropriations requirements for supplemental appropriations and funding
  • Travel to DCGS weapon system program management reviews, site visits, and meetings

REQUIREMENTS

  • US Citizenship
  • TOP SECRET (SCI eligible) security clearance
  • Associate’s degree (degree waived w/ 15 years of related experience)
  • 7 yrs experience managing DCGS intelligence Systems

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, engineering science, physical science, or mathematical discipline
  • Experience working in military headquarters staff
  • Experience working military acquisition and budgeting
