USSF Cyber Operations SME

Shape Cyber-Enabled Space Operations in the United States Space Force (USSF)! Collaborate with USSF/SpOC headquarters and subordinate units as part of the Space Delta 6 S3/5/7 staff to develop and implement new organizational, operational and weapon system constructs that support Cyber-Enabled Space Operations. Assist with the development and growth of the STARCOM Cyber Tactician Course curriculum as a precursor to a formal Weapons School Instructor Course.


Responsibilities include supporting the development of the Cyber Operations in the areas of:

  • Defensive Cyber Operations-Space (DCO-S) Mission Planning
  • Cyber threat mitigation strategies
  • Mission Relevant Terrain-Cyber (MRT-C) analysis of key USSF Mission Systems
  • Defensive Cyber Operations-Space (DCO-S) system utilization (Manticore/Kraken)
  • Cyber Range application in support of Continuation/Advanced Training and exercises
  • STARCOM Cyber Tactician Course development, implementation, and validation
  • USSF Cyber exercise planning and execution (SPACE FLAG, BLUE SKIES, RED FLAG)
  • Space Delta 6 Cyber Tactics Development (TACDEV)
  • Conduct research and analysis for new cyber mission areas under Space Delta 6

Candidate must be able to navigate staffing processes and effectively communicate ideas across a range of organizations in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment and will participate in training and tactics development for Cyber-Enabled Space Operations forces at the tactical and operational levels. This position is primarily located at an off-base facility in northern Colorado Springs with routine telework but may include occasional duty at Schriever SFB, Peterson SFB and TDYs.


  • Active TS/SCI security clearance
  • Recent military space, cyberspace, or intelligence operations experience (preferably within USSF, 16 AF/AFCYBER, U.S. Space Command, or U.S. Cyber Command)
  • At least 8 years operational experience
  • Familiarity with engaging with multiple DoD and Intelligence Community organizations (SpOC, SSC, STARCOM, AFCYBER, USSF, NSA, USSPACECOM, USCYBERCOM) at multiple levels (e.g., Flight, Division, Delta, Wing, Directorate and HQ levels)
  • Self-motivated and innovative problem-solver
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent Soft skills


  • USAF Weapons School Graduate or Cyber Weapons and Tactics
  • Mission Defense Team (MDT), Cyber Protection Team (CPT) or USCYBERCOM Cyber Mission Force/Team (CMF/CMT)
